Choosing the right topic to research is the most important part of my upcoming foreign study. Due to the research taking place in Amsterdam, there is a greater diversity of research subjects, therefore, the choice is much more important. Amsterdam is famed within the UK for a small number of things such as cannabis, prostitution, tulips, and bikes therefore within my research I want to move away from these and look at an area that has less focus. within my group, we have decided to research the notion of fluctuating morality, views, and beliefs when someone from the UK is travelling abroad, this can range from spending habits to personal conduct. We made this choice as a group as it had the potential to cover all areas of interest as well as presenting an opportunity to research something that has relevance to our own experiences. This is an area that has very little prior research and the hope of our research is it fill in this missing gap and add something to the field of sociology.
